Boudreau Re-Signs with the Wolves

By David PaigeAfter a busy week in the trade market, the Watertown Wolves are pleased to announce that Deric Boudreau has agreed to come back to the team for next season.

Entering his 3rd season with the Wolves, Deric had a few words for the fans in Watertown. “I'm excited and I feel fortunate to be back with the Wolves. It was unfortunate how last season ended, as I feel our team chemistry was just about to peak when they cancelled the season. It’s my belief that we would have been able to cause some real upsets in the playoffs, had the season been able to continue.”

Many know Boudreau as a player that you can find all over the ice. “I'm a role player and I will play wherever I am asked in order to win the game and of course a championship, which we are coming for this year.”

Wolves Head Coach Brent Clarke stated, “We are going to use speed quite a bit this season. He has an unbelievable work ethic and skates 100% to every puck, and he is a very exciting player to watch. His style of play is something we are going build on to make this team even more successful.”

The Wolves' new ownership has been very active ever since taking over at the end of the season. Boudreau returning for the new season is definitely a big addition to the Wolves lineup, and this is coming on the back of announcing Fred Hein, who was acquired in a trade with Danville. “Deric is a quick player and one of the most skilled players on our roster. While we are making some roster moves in order to be as strong as possible going into the new year, I’m very happy that Deric has decided to return to the Wolves for another season, and I’m sure the fans will welcome him back with open arms.”

Deric Boudreau is coming into this season with some impressive numbers from last season, playing in 46 games last season scoring 29 goals and tallying 43 assists for 72 points. Many also know Deric Boudreau throughout the community.  During his down time, he is teaching young players how to better their hockey fundamentals at Power Play Sports in downtown Watertown, a role which he intends to continue. Boudreau now joins Ryan Marker, Justin Coachman and Fred Hein as players signed to the roster already for this upcoming season

The Watertown Wolves organization would like to welcome Deric back to the team, and we look forward to announcing another fan favorite tomorrow.
