FPHL Trade Deadline Update

The Watertown Wolves kept quiet during the Federal Prospects Hockey League trade deadline today. With several offers being made to the team, but none that we decided to pull the trigger on. The Wolves have been active on the trade wire this season, making several moves to improve the club. Today the club felt that we were better suited to not make any trades. Effective recruitment of free agent players has been a key to the Wolves success this season. The club has sought to get younger and faster this season. NCAA Division 3 has been a key market for the Wolves to acquire new talent. On Saturday night the Wolves had 8 former NCAA Division 3 in the line up this weekend, 3 of which we recently signed.

Joining the Wolves from D3 were Ryan Swain, Anthony Filoso, and Tyson Bruce this weekend. The Wolves expect to land a few more college free agents in the next few weeks. The Wolves have also utilized our affiliate in Deseronto to bring in new talent. Will Lamoureux joined the Wolves last week and has scored four points in three games from the blueline. Bruce, Filoso, and Lamoureux have all been strong additions to the team. Nikolas Kalpouzos was also returned on loan from the SPHL this week, which gives the Wolves additional support. The Wolves now prepare for our playoff push.
